Announcement: The NULS Mainnet Upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0 Will Initiate Within 24 Hours
We are pleased to inform you that with the cooperation of the NULS community members, the testnet practice drill switching from 1.0 to 2.0 has been completed. Now, the mainnet is about to start its 1.0 to 2.0 upgrade procedure. NULS will finally enter the 2.0 era!
PLEASE NOTE: EVERY NODE OPERATOR MUST PARTICIPATE by downloading desktop v1.3.0 for this snapshot. (you can use the auto-upgrade feature directly from the wallet under the settings menu) If you are running a node, you MUST upgrade to v1.3.0. Normal users and holders should auto-upgrade their desktop wallets to v1.3.0. Light wallet users do not need to do anything. Once new nodes are created, ALL stakers will need to re-stake.
About NULS 2.0
NULS is the world’s first public chain project that offers micro-service infrastructure incorporated with the blockchain. NULS 2.0 offers a highly modular underlying architecture, customizable and easy for implementation. 2.0 supports multiple coding languages for developers including core product ChainBox which allows any user to build a chain under just 10 minutes and enables cross-chain transactions. With the advantages of chain-building and cross-chain technology, NULS has created a cross-chain, parallel and side-chain interoperable ecosystem with 2.0.
The following details the process of upgrading NULS mainnet from 1.0 to 2.0.
Phase One(currently in progress): ALL NODES on 1.0 MUST COMPLETE THIS STEP.
We are planning to release the NULS 1.0 mainnet v1.3.0 on 21st August (GMT +8). The main content of this version is the protocol upgrade. Once 90% of the mainnet nodes are upgraded to v1.3.0, and after 30,000 blocks are created, the mainnet will switch to the new protocol.
The new protocol stipulates that the mainnet will not pack transactions after 80,000 blocks (but the block height will continue to increase).
Phase Two: Activation of NULS 2.0 mainnet, and the 1.0 snapshot will be taken.
1. After the NULS 1.0 mainnet stops packing transactions, we will start the NULS 2.0 mainnet and within 24 hours we will apply the snapshot of the NULS 1.0 mainnet balance to the NULS 2.0 network.
2. Users will need to download the NULS 2.0 wallet and import the private key or keystore of their NULS 1.0 wallet into the NULS 2.0 wallet to obtain the address of their NULS 2.0 account and their corresponding balance of NULS.
PLEASE NOTE: EVERY NODE OPERATOR MUST PARTICIPATE by downloading desktop v1.3.0 for this snapshot. If you are running a node, you MUST download v1.3.0. Normal users and holders should auto-upgrade their desktop wallet to v1.3.0. Light wallet users do not need to do anything. Once new nodes are created, ALL stakers will need to re-stake.
EXCHANGES:
Users who holds NULS on exchanges can store their tokens on any exchanges that support the NULS 2.0 upgrade. Users can also transfer their NULS into their NULS 1.0 native wallet BEFORE the NULS 1.0 mainnet stops packing transactions. The team will contact exchanges in advance before upgrading the network. During such period, some of the exchanges might stop transferring services temporarily. Users should pay careful attention to NULS announcement channels.
