Smart China Expo, August 22–24, Chongqing, China

On the morning of August 22, the 2022 Smart China Expo opened in ChongQing. Singapore continues to serve as the co-host of the Smart Expo. At the opening ceremony, Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of Communications and Information and Second Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore, delivered a video speech, saying that this year’s Smart City Expo is at the right time. The Smart City Expo provides a valuable platform where parties can focus on smart city construction, exchanges ideas and shares experiences to give rise to more and better solutions. This year’s Smart Expo will inspire new ideas, gain insight into new trends, and create greater benefits in smart city life.

On the afternoon of August 22, the Singapore Pavilion of the 2022 Smart Expo was officially opened. Zhuang Qingwei, Director of the China Region of the Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority, Chu Bin, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Sino-Singapore Demonstration Project Administration, and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Big Data Application Development Administration Hu Junguo and representatives of Singapore exhibitors jointly cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony.

Opening ceremony of SCE2022

NULS and veriTAG attended the Smart Expo together and set up NFTSafe exhibits at the Singapore exhibition hall. NFTSafe allows physical artwork to be minted on the blockchain through NFT, and seals the key through LOGWIN. This allows empowerment and utilization on the IP of the artwork, thereby increasing the IP value of the artisNFT.

Blockchain-based NFTs that empower the artists

NULS Foundation was invited to represent our Singapore partners at the ribbon-cutting ceremony organized by the Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority to present to the Chongqing Sino-Singapore Demonstration Project Administration the NFT digital collection specially made by Singaporean spiritual artist Liang Sijun for the 2022 Smart Expo.

The NULS community director — Reaper Ran and the local government representative

Differently Bestowed Artist Liang Sijun was born with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease. He has been keen on painting as a child and would express his emotions on paper. He has participated in many art exhibitions and has presented his works to special guests such as Prime Minister of Singapore Mr and Mrs Lee Hsien Loong, Mayor of Central Region Ms Denise Phua, Member of Parliament Mr Desmond Lee etc. His perseverance and spirit are always inspiring, and we can always see the glow of enthusiasm and vision for the future in his works.

The creator of The Raffles City — Leong Sijun

This art was specially created by Leong Sijun for the Singapore Pavilion of the 2022 Smart Expo. It presents Raffles City, a landmark building in Chongqing. The art is made into NFT on the NULS blockchain and uploaded to the Singapore TradeTrust platform for permanent storage. The ownership of the original work has been generated and sealed with a key.

This art presents Chongqing in a juxtaposition of new futuristic architecture and its traditional old world; while surging into a world-class city, it is endowed with rich culture and heritage. Raffles City Chongqing and Marina Bay Sands Singapore has the same architectural design, just like graceful twin sister buildings. Raffles City Chongqing stands at the Chaotianmen Wharf where the two rivers meet, implying that the new strategic cooperation between China (Chongqing) and Singapore is like two rivers running incessantly.
